Red Bull announced this week that it will leave NASCAR after this year. Since I'm not a NASCAR fan, I think this is great news. But only if it means they'll return to IndyCar and/or other US open wheel series.
This does not seem like a positive development for Kimi Raikonen's NASCAR career.
I also wonder if this will effect the career path of RB develpment driver Cole Whitt, who seems to be a future star. Since he came from midgets & sprint cars, it seems possible that he could be guided toward Indy cars and/or F1. Unlikely I know, but wouldn't it be cool...
Any other facts or speculation about where this portion of Red Bull's motorsports budget might go?
PS - I personally don't care what's going to happen to the current RB NASCAR team, so that's not what I'm asking for speculation about.

Word is, Toyota is going to prop them up till the team finds an investor. RB will likely stay on a sponsor so put your party hat away. I never understand why people celebrate the demise of something they don't care about. ???

I don't think the OP is dancing about them leaving, just wants to know where the resources will be going if anywhere.
Would have thought Kimi was the perfect fit for Red Bull in NASCAR.
BTW, my daughter got into karting when Cole Whitt was racing karts locally. He later moved onto regional and national kart races before getting into midgets. His family had the $$ to bring him along and pay the way, but I image at that level, it's going to take a major sponsor to continue. He seems to be the real deal though.

If this results in new Red Bull sponship for American open wheel races or racers, it's worthy of my full array of awesome dance moves. If not, it's pretty meaningless to me.

Isn't open wheel in America the same as NASCAR but no fenders?

Any retraction of sponsorship, even NASCAR, is a downer. If NASCAR suffers, Grand Am suffers. Let's hope that it's more of an issue of redirecting the sponsor $ and not withdrawing them.
