Default Chicago PCA DE Autobahn June 13th

Attended my first PCA DE event on Monday. Great group of people easy to register and tech the car. Got some great comments form other drivers.

Looking forward to more events.

Some video from the day.

A busy lap

Best lap of the day - just squeaked under 3mins

In the first video, did the guy at the end miss his turn? Looked like he was just going to do the north course to shake you!

I've only raced the north course there, but it looked like you were hitting all the marks.

Chicago Region has a number of terrific instructors. Did you have one in the car with you?

Also, if you head back there, Autobahn itself has two terrific pro coaches. Tom Bagley ran the Indy 500 three years in a row, as well as Can-Am, and Tony Kester has a number of championships, pro and SCCA to his credit, as well as dozens of amateur, PCA and Ferrari Challenge vistories. What's more they are terrific teachers, each with his own style. Both have been teaching for decades, and know how to work with a wide range of students.

(I've met Tom a number of times, he often co-drives with a fellow Eurosport Racing customer. Tony is on the faculty of RacerUniversity)

Yes in the first video he did "drive off the track" . He came up to me after the session to explain that he had been trying to decide if he should let me past and forgot to brake!!

Although this was my first event with PCA, it was my third trip to Autobahn, and 2nd time on the full course, I had an instructor for the first session but he decided I was in the wrong group and needed to be moved up - he approved me for solo and I did the last two session on my own.

S5 & 6 where my biggest issues all day. Never really happy with my various lines, so expect to get someone to ride along next time.

Like "Mike in Chi" I have only driven the north course, but you seemed to be doing very well. I also thought it was funny that the guy went straight on the north course track. Also, I am pretty sure I know the kid in the mustang you passed at the end of the second video. Great job, maybe I will see you around - btw, what are you driving?

It's a 2000 BMW M Roadster, my wife and I mostly autocross and are regulars at SCCA and BMWCCA events.

Car has coilovers and other suspension mods, running on 255 Dunlop Z1 starspecs.

You should come out to one of the PCA Chicago Region AX's - my wife is the AX coordinator so I have to go

Also, you might want to check the spelling of your location...

It was good to see you having fun at our event. As I was managing the event, I only drove my Boxster S as the lead car in the "follow the Leader". You had a smile on your face during the day so I knew you were having fun. It was a great day with sunshine, low 70's and no incidents! What's not to like?

Fixed the location. Unfortunately 6 BMWCCA events and 6 SCCA events is all that time allows!!

Also the Chicago PCA website does not list anything other than Porsche classes for Autox do you have an "other makes" class ?
