Checking Weather.com shows a forecast of sunny and 88 degrees - 20% chance of rain - the weekend just before the Club Race. Also shows as mentioned before the average temp for the CR weekend is an average high of 88. Record is 102 - which is probably last year. So what are the odds of approaching or breaking the record again??

Default Just too hot

I love the track but I can't take the heat. 96 last year, even with a cool shirt, was too much. Won't be back in the summer.

I'm going to prep/ inspect my car this weekend in hopes of attending but it might be a last minute decision because of work. Although the heat isn't deterring me from the sprint races I don't plan on signing up for the enduro.

I am curious why you wouldn't sign up for the enduro if you are going to be there racing anyway?

We are seeing about one third less registrations for enduros as opposed to sprints.

My personal take is if I am going to be at the track why not sign up for everything?

I agree with you. As for my attendance, I didn't get a response to my PM to you so I have to assume the answer to my question is "no" and that is the reason I won't be there.

Forecast for NASA race next w/e @ RA is 93F ( down from recent highs of 98F).
Its summer- its bloody hot. Its a matter of wanting to do it enough and marshaling resources:

Coolsuit- check.
Block ice- check
Aux. oil cooler- check.
Motul 300V oil- check
Drink lots of liquids- check
Co-drive friend's car in Enduro- check
Save own car for sprints- check

Frank, I didn't see your message until today as frankly I rarely check RL but no issue for the weekend so sign up now.

He was talking about the heat and basically saying he would do the sprints but not the enduro because of it....

Fixed for you.

I understand some air cooled P-cars have mechanical issues in the heat, but I dont think it is the majority here.

NASA events are well subscribed in the blistering heat. Like Josh said, you gotta prepare for it. It's racing, just another factor in it.

PCA isnt the only venue short on entries. It's the same in BMWCCA.

No doubt it could be 100 degree's, it could also be 50(record low). June, VIR is in the "south", it's summer, but it's VIR....one of the best
tracks in the country!

I do think though that the MO to WG to VIR in a very short time makes people choose 1 or 2 events.

I'll be there in H.....

If the turnout is light, it would be great to add another sprint race.......
