Got to sit in the MP4-23 yesterday and talk to the McLaren guys. As you can imagine they are full of good stories. Took a zillion pics.
Hamilton did a 1:46 on his first complete lap on a wet track. Just drove Stewarts car, now they're swapping. Track is now damp at best. The whole thing is a Mobil1 marketing event, so dont expect a full thunderdome lap comparison w/ telemetry. But still extremely cool.

^^^ So cool you got to go! The echo of an F1 car through the trees at the Glen, must be like heaven. Please post up your pictures, any video? Nice that they let you up close to the cars
I would have driven up if my kid was out of school... thought about playing hooky, but there would be no way he could keep seeing an F1 car secret
Here's some pictures just posted on SpeedTV

I was here yesterday with BMWCCA. Since it's normally a 2 day event and NASCAR stole our second day, they let us run until 8:30pm on Monday, so most people spent the night here. Was easy to justify checking this out.
I'll try to get some pictures up later.

My in-laws are there and will take lots of photos. I'll get the full report tonight and will be watching the special on Speed. I will be interested to see how Tony Stewart does in the McLaren since it's been a long time since he was in an open wheel car.

I am in my hotel room at WGI watching the show right now on Speed.
On a related note, when I arrived at the track an hour ago I took a dump. As I was sitting there doing my business I thought to myself, 'perhaps Lewis Hamilton pinched a loaf on this very throne.'

I wish the announcers would shut up so we can hear what they are saying in the cars.

Fred C was faster in his SC than Lewis Hamilton in the Sprint Cup car :O
Freddy at the Clash: 2:10.8
Lewis: 2:11
I know it was wet there today.

Good show. Wish they had given each driver more laps, gotten more feedback, etc.
I also wish they'd do stuff like this more often. Very cool to see 2 different drivers from 2 different racing worlds compare notes and try cars.
