Default Could Sato be far behind?

Officials keeping close eye on Castroneves
25 April 2011IndyCar Series officials are now paying particular attention towards Helio Castroneves, according to former driver Al Unser Jr, following a somewhat accident-prone start to the 2011 season for the popular Brazilian.

Serving as a consultant for IndyCar’s competition department, Unser was part of the officiating crew for the third round of the season at Long Beach, where the Penske driver was seen coming together with both Justin Wilson and team-mate Will Power.

Incidentally, the first contact was deemed a racing accident while no action was taken over the second as both cars were competing for the same outfit.

“We keep track of drivers who are making poor decisions and we're keeping track of what Helio is doing,” Unser is quoted as saying by the IndyStar. “If he continues, then some action will be taken."

The largest Castroneves incident so far in 2011 featured contact with Marco Andretti which resulted in a five-car pile-up and the American’s car inverting at the former corner in St. Petersburg.
