Default Big Thumbs up to CJ AKA "CELLO"

I wanted to recognize CJ's driving improvements over the couple of days I worked with him on his skill set. In just two events he has transformed his driving his driving in both smoothness and speed. He was moved to the top non-instructor group and immediately was at pace. CJ has demonstrated the ability to understand data analysis and apply it to his technique.

Hey Gary, he is putting down 1:33s on Toyo's at Tbolt with a stock car. I was quite pleased with his progress. Larry has a small laundry list for his suspension, but I think he may consider leaving this car stock and doing a proper a transition.

Thanks for the comments Bob,... and guys!

Naturally, my track group believes I paid Bob T for the nice comments (ahhh, Bob, PM’d you for the address, cash as discussed ? .. ).. Actually, I scared Bob to death. He and Larry flipped for the honor of right seating. Bob lost. Shannon called and begged him to leave. I overheard him upping his LI coverage..

Seriously, tho, all improvement should be credited to Bob and Larry. Just a great program!! If anyone soloing/racing is on the fence about coaching, echoing Mike (mdrums), Mike (TDM) Ron, and others here, just do it. And if anyone is with Schattenbaum, JSR, RTR, Delaware, Metro, NNJR, or is running NJMP, or the usual east coast tracks, I cannot recommend Larry and Bob enough (feel free to PM me if anyone wants further input..).

As for chicken, dicing with and trying not to get run over by the .2 GT3s (Rlips...) and GT3RSs, and worse, is about as far as it goes right now. I am sure Mike (mdrums) will agree, at times its like bringing a knife to a gun fight out there...

Thanks also Bob for the thoughts on proper track kit, thinking hard...

LH - LMAO... VR, if our track group starts heading south in the winter, maybe....

Glad to hear you had fun and did well! I will be on the east coast coaching nearly every week in May and the first week in June.

^ Had more than fun, I learned a lot, and quickly.

I might joke around here, as this is a hobby and escape from the "real world" for me and I use RL as such, but these guys are no joke.

Really .. good .. stuff. Anyone interested in getting better would have a hard time doing better.

CJ's driving improvement is indeed terrific and well deserved.

And you won't find a friendlier, more willing to help guy at any event.

Here's to continued success CJ....all the best.

Paolo, I was fortunate enough to work with Chris Cervelli a couple of years back at Tbolt and we figured out some lines/techniques for rear engine cars on the track that seem to work. I can run a consistent 27 in a stock engined 993 chassis with the wide body aero. With some added data analysis I have found another second. Recently, we did some work with a variety of black level drivers and a front running club racer at tbolt. The advanced drivers all improved from 3 to 5 secs a lap while I found a second plus for the racer. The biggest gain was in consistency and much better car control. CJ can bang off the same fast lap one after another without the drama. I really wish I had this opportunity for myself 5 years ago when I looking to improve. Instead I took the long along including hiring a pro. Larry and I are simply providing an affordable way to get better, but leave the door open for a driver/racer that may still want max attention with a pro coach. This is simply a bridge that exposes a drivers potential and helps remove bad habits. It has also helped that we invested in factory training from Racepak this year.

CJ is has a 997. No guarantee on how much time you can improve, but I hope you would see an improvement that is a fraction of what you would spend on the car to get the same results.
