Easy way to choose wheel stud length

I'm posting this here in the racing forum because I have had questions in other areas of the site and think it makes sense to put the answer here.
I often get questions on how to determine what length wheel studs people should get. The answer is usually "Measure"![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
However in the photo below I show a means by which those wishing to convert to steel wheel studs & nuts can use their existing wheel bolts as a guide.
The photo pretty much says it all. But basically you would position a nut on a stud about the same place that the "ball seat" portion of a wheel bolt is located.
If you are adding spacers you simply add the spacer width to this figure.
Voila! No more guessing or measuring toothpicks or straws or whatever other odd things I've been told peopel do over the years
