Default TraqMate RPM feed issue....

Guys: Hoping someone has figured this out by now. Car is a 997.2 C2S. When TM installed we could not get RPM feed the usual way thru DME. Totally different animal from the 997.1 apparently. A good shop did initial install and talked to TM who was unaware of the changes. Really wld like RPM data. Anyone get this to work yet ????? TIA!

Scott, I believe so.

Know anyone that got the RPM channel from the new ECU/DME?

Other Scott (sbelles) - Good cutting edge shop that knows the tricks couldn't find a way. The 997.2 is really different in many ways, some more of a PITA than others...

CJ, I was told by a P-car tech that he felt it could be turned on with a code reader. I will test this out for you and send a PM.

I worked with Charlie. He is was driving really well. Ran his fastest laps ever and did so on old tires. Biggest result is he way easier on the car now. I see a track record in his future. We spoke with Pete today and it looks good for the Thurs/Friday event.

OK found this post on the TM Forums re a 2011 TurboS:

"The ECU for the 3.8L Turbo S engine is completely different that the 3.6L engine. If you want to hook up the RPM feed to the Traqmate for the 3.8L engine, use wire B56, gray with red tracer, from the bigger of the connectors on the ECU. (Unfortunately they are not labeled A and B)

To be sure, count the wires and when you get to number 56 it should be gray with red tracer. You have to unplug the connector to see the numbers and they only number the first and last wire in each row, you have to count the rest.

This wire gives you a single plug firing pulse, so set the number of cylinders to one and you can use this feed for both the TM and the ShiftI lights.

As far as I know, the wire will be the same on an S or a non-S engine."

Does anyone know if the DME/ECU for the 2011 TurboS is a Siemans unit/same as the 2010 C2S ?

I thought it is Siemens for DFI engines only, but the Turbo uses the GT1 block, so something new learned, I better check my ECU as well.

Do you know if this is the same for 7.2 GT3 RS?
