Someone privately sent me a pic of the car taken from above (maybe that viewing tower I'm thinking). The car didn't see to be totalled. However it does appear as though most of the body panels in the front will need to be replaced along with the windshield. It appears as though it was driven straight into the tire barrier as the damage was fairly evenly distributed. It was hard to tell from the photo but it did appear as though there was some indentation of the roof also.

I feel really sorry for the car's owner. I refuse to speculate on the situation.

This is precisely what the driver has described in the TS thread: a hard pedal with no bite coming in at 150 mph to T17.

Hmm. Had a feeling that was it. I wonder if he just went too hard on the brake pedal just as the track gets bumpy? it'll do it every time. That's why it sometimes pays to use soft feet on the initial brake application on bumpy tracks...

I'm 50% brake pressure in the braking zone of 17. Chris Hall has worked me up to releasing the brakes way earlier than I used to and the car feels really stable carrying all that speed in 17. It got loose once over the weekend through there but a quick counter steer and I was back on course.

Of course in a Boxster there isn't that much speed coming off the back straight so probably I could get away with 25% brake pressure. LOL
