Default It's official. I'm a racer. (SCCA Novice).

I passed the SCCA Double School at Summit Point over the weekend. It was a heck of a grind. Basically, three days of classroom, track, classroom, track, classroom, track. I was lucky to be on a track that I knew well and a car that was a real pleasure to drive (SRF). Best laps were in the 1:25s, but the real fun was the racing!

Congrats Greg. The WDCR SCCA school is highly regarded, prepares you well... although intense.

Nice going. I still remember my first school. As I recall ,very nerve racking especially in the rain.
After 20 years and despite all the bad things some people have to say about the SCCA I still enjoy my racing with them.
My advice is to just present a well prepared and legal car and try to stay out of the "politics".
Be fast and safe.

No race scheduled yet. I have to sit down with the family and the schedule and decide where to get my races in.

The WDCR-SCCA school is intense. For three days, it's just classroom-track-classroom-track. You don't get any downtime other than 45 minutes for lunch. My class/group was small (12 drivers) and a huge speed range from Formula Vee to Formula Atlantic, with SRFs, DSRs and F500. I would not recommend taking racing school in a Formula Atlantic. The poor guy spent most track sessions sorting out mechanical issues. By comparison, the SRFs were stone-cold reliable lawn tractors.

Darn! I was at the school also and did not know any Rennlisters were there. I did see one 996 GT3 that was there, but Greg as you know you had very little time during the day to do anything extra!

Congrats to you Greg and hope the racing goes well for you also. I am in kinda the same boat as you as now I need to plan out a race schedule for this year.

I would also add I thought the DC school was really good. I had no complaints about the event, only large amounts of praise for all the efforts of so many to pull off such a large event so well!

25's are great times. Right at the pointy end of regional fields.

Congrats and look forward to seeing you on track.
