I will be installed the head I just repaired from a miss shift at PIR in November.
I do hate to miss AMP. Still the current track record holder for all 3 configurations in 944 spec. Not sure how much long will hold out though.

Great to hear it's back up and running. (Permanently, or ????) Given what we saw in the real estate market when we were there a few weeks ago, could keep a car down there for the winter. Not that I'll take issue with what we have here, but given Tucson and Chuckwalla in the mix AZ is certainly a far cry from when I left there in the late '80s.

I'll be there with the spec car, with a new muffler to pass sound. Should be fun haven't run AMP for years... Joe sorry you won't make it, hope to see gina magic out soon!...
Lots of limits, including a sheriff at the door checking the list of attendees, 200 max, sound in the 90db range and nothing running before 9 and after 4.... the irony is it is on the same day as Luke Days, the AFB airshow... I wonder what kind of muffler you can strap to an F-16 afterburner to get it under 90db...unless the thunderbirds now fly gliders...

I don't think my car would pass tech inspection. If it did, you could take it around one time on the proper line and then I could just follow the oil drops for my laps.
It's not dropping that much oil but it's dropping enough that I think tech inspection would be a problem.

It has sounds limits and the track is in a re-opening phase and there are heavy restriction on the number of people that can even be there.
As for being close residential. It is now that house have been build closer. However it is also right off the end an Air Force runway. The F16s there make alot more noise.

Should be out by April 2nd Night race. Jim Fluckly just got my head repaired. So this weekend I intend to put it back on the car. The next hurdle will be the second door bar to make the cage legal to 2011 rules.

I'll be there running in HPDE 4. The noise thing is really unbelievable. After the track permit was re-instated I was fortunate to be out there helping the owner gather some data on sound. A bunch of us were running around the track and, honestly, you could barely hear the cars except when they come by the pits. At the same time, several groups of 4 F-16s took off overhead in a deafening roar. Awesome to watch and about 100x louder than any of the cars.
This weekend is also the Luke AFB air show so I doubt anyone will hear us over the Thunderbirds but surely some **** will complain. The irony is that the track and AFB were there long before the homes. Any the homes really aren't all that close anyway.
Should be fun, great track.
