Default Silly question - hope I am wrong...

Okay,

So now that the ALMS 12 hours of Sebring is only on ABC 1.5 hours and the rest of it is only on Espn3....

I am a Dish Network customer and it appears they do not have Espn3.

My DSL connection is not good enough to watch live video without buffering, every few secs; long story as I live pretty far from the DSL central office which affects speed..

So am I out of luck and cannot watch 88% of the race?

As someone who has actually driven in the 12 hours before that will be really frustrating if true, and a very poor migration path for ALMS (at least IMHO) to flash cutover like that.

Hopefully I am wrong and I have just missed something...

Please let me know...

Thanks!

I don't see ESPN 3 on Direct TV. Have ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNews.

ESPN3 is a broadband-only medium.

Isn't the ALMS motto "For the fans"?

Man, if this is the way they treat their fans, how do they treat their enemies?!

I suppose we now have to watch "Pinks All Out" on Speed channel to get our racing fix?

It will also be broadcast with full production on americanlemans.com.

I have tested it through my PS3 and it works so I can watch the live stream on my big TV vs my laptop.

Your PS3 may need a system update to work.

Unfortunately it appears even worse than I thought.

I cannot even watch streaming on broadband because ESPN3 requires a licensing fee from your ISP.

ESPN3 makes you select your ISP then enter and authenticates your ISP specific login id to authorize your stream watching...

My ISP, along with many others are not on the list yet....

This is true even if you have a gamebox like XBOX that can stream video over the net since it still verifies ISP...

I checked that too, in case that would buffer it.

I hope they keep the recordings accessible after the race for a good while.

I see they do have a replay section, so if there I can get access in the future, maybe I can download the videos so I dont have buffering issues....

I may be mistaken but I believe that the same feed goes out thru americanlemans.com so you can watch it anywhere. Makes me wonder why they even bother with espn3.
