I am looking to put in a right side net in my 914 race car for added protection. I was wondering if some of you racers who have installed one could give me some insight on what brands you have used, and how you like them. Also, If you have any pictures with them installed in your car that would help me. Because I have a caged 914, my seat actually sits back almost against the rear cage and is within 2 1/2" of the firewall so I don not have a seat back brace just high density foam behind the seat. I see safety solutions has a three strap tether product, has anyone used a two strap sprint car window net?
I just picked up one of the Safety Solution right side nets just the other week. Still need to install so not much help there, I need to figure how I'm going to route it through the dash.

I like the Safety Solutions mounting hardware the best. The quick release is vertical. Some others I have seen are horizontal and I just don't like that as much as that's the direction the forces would be happening. I've only driven a couple cars with them as in the open wheel world they don't get used so I'm sure someone wiht more seattime will chime in as well.
As for mounting it, often it is done wrong. The straps should wrap around the back of the seat and then come forward. Should your head/body move forward and to the side you don't want any chance of it getting stuck between the seat and the net. The net should help guide you back to the seat if that ever happens. So a nice tight fit to the seat is crticial.
I have a Schroth right side net in my 968, and I love it. I'm kinda crazy and like everything to match; so since I have Schroth belts I had to get Schroth window nets.
Mounting was not too difficult, and when I am out on track I don't even notice it is there. The net has plenty of length to get it wrapped around my Kirkey seat and mounted to the rear bottom seat belt mount and to the roll cage. I also have it mounted through the center vents to the fire wall.

The mesh ones I've seen in some cars are from TeamTech.
Another one that I think I can get for people is a Piper Motorsports but I've never seen it in real life and have reservations about it until I can see it. I don't have a feel for how it mounts.
Steve,
I have the Safety Solutions in my 914-6. It wraps around an Ultrashield seat and attaches to the cage dash cross bar, main hoop and diagonal. I can shoot some pix if you want. I probably need an email address to send those.
I have a Schroth in my 944, and after fixing an issue with the quick release ring ( see https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=17170 ), and fiddling with the mounting so that the clunky ratcheting mechanism is hidden under the dash, I've been fairly satisfied with it. Not long after installing it, however, a friend was showing me his new pro-built SPBOX car and he had this one: https://www.safecraft.com/Mhead-windowSets.php. I like the ratcheting and quick release hardware MUCH better on the Safecraft.
