Anyone removed their AC compressor on a 997 S? What was final belt length? Can do string method, but dont want to reinvent wheel if someone has done this. Thanx...

I can look up the part # from NAPA if it's the same belt length as a 996 (probably not). When I did mine a few years ago, I just measured the existing belt and went to NAPA and bought several progressiely diminishing lengths and found one that fit very nicely.

No 997s (even outside US) came without AC so no listings or PET number. Also no Motorsports #. Again was just wondering if someone have the length. Thanks for your help.

Since no one apparently knew I figured it out (for future search reference wanted to post). Deleting the AC Compressor on 996 / 997 (including S model) a 6 rib 20x1905 belt worked great. I have an RSS underdrive pulley so was not as stupid tight as a new belt is generally for new install. So a factory pulley should also work fine with this belt.

No prob Shane. Customers car I manage and crew chief. He runs GT3R in PCA. Had a second in the Sprints and first in Enduro during 48 Hours. Runs at minimum weight (not that I removed his climate control, AC, Heater, and more) and just installed a Guard LSD (he has been running open diff for 3 years of racing spinning inside tire out of every turn) and a LWF with race clutch (again stock dual mass and stock clutch came out). He runs 2:20s at Sebring. Hope with the 200 lb weight loss and other mods he will be down in the :18-:17s
