Maybe the extra heat we see here in Texas is the culprit for what I have seen then.
I get to see your old white RSA all the time, TWS is a regular track for me.

Due to a failure of 4 bolts, I did finish an enduro once with 17 lbs of air in the right rear. Didn't appear to hurt the tire though.

See if you can get Paul to let you drive it. It is an awesome little car. Still wish that I had it.

Scott, I really do not know as Chris Cervelli built the car for the person that I bought it from. IIRC based on the McPherson front, the effective rate is times a .9 multiplier, and I do not know for the back, but have been told that for the 964 it is similar. If you are interested, I could probably find out for you.

There use to be one in my stable, pretty heavily modded as well, I remember how sweet they are. I too miss her.

Probably a good thing. Then you'd see how much time he was leaving on the table.

No, then HE would see how much time he is leaving on the table.

Seriously, Paul is a good guy and actually drives it quite well. Although we can all always improve.

Paul has become a very good driver.

After watching your videos, you shouldn't be one to talk.

Meh, we all leave time on the table. If you note in my videos, most of them are from tracks that I have only been to once or twice. The first time at Road Atlanta I probably was leaving a full second between turns 12 and 1.

Besides, I think that I know Paul well enough to kid with him. I am aware of his improvement.

Wow. Was that comment really necessary or appropriate, Greg?

You guys crack me up... there is no "problem" with stiffer springs in the rain, and softer set-ups aren't necessarily better. Of course you all know it all depends. Stiffer than what? Softer than what? What difference does mentioning tire temps and pressures make when other details on the cars and tracks, et cetera aren't provided?

And as Tom W. can appreciate as a scientist, whether the OP's spring rate change is a big one or not depends on your perspective. In my 1950 pound race car it means one thing, in a 3000 pound car it means another. To me it means one thing, to someone else it means another.. Now I am not saying shame on you Tom...

Now I see Chris C.'s name mentioned... I think I first encountered him in the 90's and got to meet him in person at a few Club Races. My impression is that he has a lot of experience building, driving and setting up cars, including the heavier and later models. And he has expertise is my impression. So I might check with him on a question like this.

As for rain, why would anyone want to drive in that? Makes a mess of the car, especially when you go off the track into the mud. The last time I drove on a track in the rain it was a pickup truck at Thunderhill getting my PCA instructor certification/whatever they call it...

Laugh all you want. But there certainly is a "problem" with stiffer springs in the rain and softer setups are better assuming, as I said previously, the car is not sprung too softly for dry conditions.

The simple fact is that it is much easier to drive a car in the rain that is not transferring load as quickly as a car setup ideally for dry conditions. The speeds are lower so roll is less so less roll resistance is needed.

This is true for bikes as well as cars.

Scott
