blast from the past....
I was scrolling through facebook this afternoon and noticed a picture tagged with Bill Auberlin and Cort Wagner. They were standing in front of a Ferrari 360. I kept clicking through the pics and ended up on this one.... Check out the comments on it

Porsche 996 GT2. another amazing street car. power delivery was so smooth but fierce, killer brakes. car was bone stock except for Hoosier R compounds. in heavy tracffic i was doing 1:43 at Mid-Ohio and i mean really getting held up at times... Mr. Alan Statman, the owner of the car and a solid advanced group driver who kindly share this beast with me. mucho thanks Alan!! ps, thanks to katty for the witty remarks. love it!!

Years later and he's still feeling the need to defend himself from the conversations here on Rennlist...the dude is a total nutcase.
may, 2003 @ willow springs big track - posing with my wreck. i so wish i had the in car to back me up. this accident was much talked about in certain forums back then... i know it wasn't my fault. think about this, the incident happened in a *qualifying* session. yah i spun out because i was pushing it hard, but the dude who hit me was easily 30 yards behind. what was he thinking? i'll never know. he hit my car at full speed... it's qualifying man, not racing. a car spun out in front of you and you still go ***** out?? hmm...

And one more posing with the miata...
may, 2003 @ willow springs big track - check out those kicks. Nike i forgot what they were but they are one of my favorite basketball shoes EVER. light weight, comfy, and stylish as fawk. btw i must once again thank bunnysport him and i had the wreck sorted out and there was no hard feelings. eventually i even bought the spec miata he built that replaced this one. hater forums are dangerous and one should stay away.

I'm really not sure how someone can go through life being so impressively clueless. I thought moving away to another country would wisen him up a bit. I also assumed that some of it was just a made up internet personality. Looks like I was wrong on both counts.

He actually friended me on FB...I had to say yes just to see...it's like a train wreck, you just can't look away! He obviously has no clue who I am.

Wow. Just saw the photo album of the "only girl he ever loved."
I'm sure we're just feeding his strange obsession by talking about him, but it really is like a wreck...awful, and yet impossible to turn away from.

Frightening memories - I was actually there that weekend when Frank drove the car. He was pestering me to drive my 993 and I wouldn't even think of it...I was really surprised that Alan let him drive the GT2.
I rode with Alan in the car...great car...got pretty interesting when he spun it coming out of thunder valley and barely grazed the tire wall. Just required a bit of rubbing to clean it up like new. What a great car.
