The Hudson-Champlain Region will be hosting an Advanced Driver Education event at Lime Rock Park on Friday, April 8th. This is an event for White, Black and Red run group drivers wishing to get maximum track exposure and an opportunity to “test and tune” prior to the PCA Club Races. (White run group drivers must have completed a minimum of 6 track days in the White run group prior to the event to be eligible)
This event will feature an open track for 1 hour periods and be limited to the first 30 registrants. We will be sharing the track with the Lime Rock Club, but because there is only one run group, and we are limiting the number of entrants, everyone will get 4 hours of quality track time.
As an added incentive, any Instructor that participates in this event and instructs in our Novice DE on April 9th, will be entered into a raffle for a FREE registration in our Cups and Saucers DE at Watkins Glen on May 11-12, 2011, a $375 value. (Instructors do not have to drive in the Novice DE as we are accepting non-driving Instructors at no cost.) The winner will be drawn at the Novice DE and must be present to win.
This year we will be using ClubRegistration.net for all event registration. Registration opens 01/17/11.
For additional information, contact Don Schneider, Track Chair, at track@hcp-pca.com or Jim Morgan, Registrar, at registrar@hcp-pca.com.

What are the db limits Aaron, I asked Limerock and they told me that "PCA will tell you".. WTF does THAT mean? My car barely made it before and that is with two baffles shoved in my tailpipe after my muffler.

If residents complain the track can gets fined and they pass it on to track renters ? They give you one attempt to correct noise before being black flagged for the day. I've never been able to figure it out or the State Police invovement. They patrol the area and would only come into the track if call as an emergency. That would shut the track down my guess. The State sets the dp limits I thought. We have had days with say 10+ noise violations called in. Everyone gets a second try. That's a lot of noise but I 'm not aware of PDA / NASA getting fined. I check with some PCA contacts as well.

How many track cars can pass the 85 db level? My car sounds like a Lexus at idle and I've been recorded at 90+ the last 3 times at LR, even with a turn down.
How do you Cup guys do it?

I agree, 85db is ridiculous..........
Probably better off in paying the fine and adding it to the cost of the event......

It has been, IIRC, 89db for some time but the rumor is they are trying to lower it to 87db. 87db will filter out all but the quietest stock cars. Maybe they want us all to run Nissan Leaf's.
