Default Stopwatch App for Blackberry

I thought I should update you guys on my off-season keep-busy-till-racing-starts-again project...

I was looking around for a decent stopwatch app for my blackberry. I have a real stopwatch but I can never find it. And when I do, I can never remember how it works. It's about as easy to use as the clock on my VCR.

I took a look around for something better than the built-in one, and frankly, the one that came with my phone was as good as it gets.

So, I decided to write my own...

I read the manuals for several high-end stopwatches. Then I consulted a some pro coaches. Special thanks to Ross Bentley for all of his advice and support.

And after more than a few late nights... Voilà! We now have a full featured stopwatch app for the Blackberry.

It looks like this:

For an overview of what it does, please see:
ProTimer Stopwatch for Blackberry.

It is now available for sale in Blackberry App World:

If you would like to try it, you can also download an extended 14 day free trial on my site.

Advanced Circuit Timer for BlackBerry

ProTimer Stopwatch is an advanced circuit timing app for the BlackBerry platform. Designed in consultation with professional coaches, ProTimer includes all the advanced stopwatch features you would expect to find in a professional chronometer.

ProTimer Stopwatch has an advanced feature set suitable for:
- Motorsports, Racing, Karting, or Rally
- Physical Education, Track and Field, Cross Country
- Running, Swimming, Biking, Rowing
- Socker, Hockey, Game Timer
- Many, many more applications

Plus because it's a BlackBerry, your results are automatically recorded and can be saved or emailed with just a click. Now you can leave your clipboard at home.

Fully Featured Stopwatch
- Multimode Stopwatch
- Advanced Lap/Split timer
- Best/Worst/Average Lap Time and Speed
- Measure Gaps to leader and Followers
- Speed and Distance calculations

Countdown/Stroke/Pace Timers
- Countdown timer with alarm
- Stroke calculator
- Pace setter

Additional Features
- 1/100th second resolution
- Near unlimited memory
- Records results for later review
- Save and Email results easily
- Runs in the background
I'm already thinking about a more powerful variation for timing multiple cars in parallel. When it comes time, I know where to find Beta Testers.

If I read correctly, this is not a laptimer that would use GPS. Correct?

Correct. It's a conventional trackside stopwatch. It's just a lot more convenient than a dedicated one.

I use a Race-Technology data logger in my race car. I would be surprised if the GPS in a phone is going to be anywhere near accurate enough to be a race timer. The RT unit relies heavily on the accelerometer for accuracy. Plus it has a roof mounted antenna.

Track up to six cars. You can add/edit names and/or car numbers. View, save, e-mail and print history.

MultiTrack StopWatch 1.1 by Imagam.com, in the Apple App store.

No connection, just a satisfied user.

OK, thanks.

I was an "early adopter" of Harry's track map and didn't like it; but maybe it was too beta for my tastes. might have to try another app
