Default Great Deal at Safe Racer

no affiliation...

Got an email with a "Black Friday" coupon code for 15% off anything on their site. Santa had just ordered a Traqmate Complete for me. Cancelled that order and entered a new one... saving $150! Coupon code is BF152010. Apparently, there are a limited number of orders available using that coupon. So, if you want to use it... hurry!

They also have a 10% off coupon if you buy an SA 2010 helmet. I got a Pyrotect pro airflow for $279 shipped - was on sale marked down $30 then with the 10% off coupon (2010helmetsale) was another $20 and it came with free shipping and a helmet bag. The helmet is pretty nice and weighs 3.3lbs (large size).

Thanks for the coupon code!

Point of clarification - this is thru "SOLORACER.COM", not Saferacer.com.

I just ordered the same for $269.10 shipped.

just to clarify the clarification... my purchase with the coupon code originally posted was on saferacer.com. I've never visited soloracer.com.

Trackcar, noted in your signature the warning regarding Traqmate. Searched for old posts that might provide details, but couldn't find any. Can you elaborate?

This summer I decided to invest in my skills before I invest in more mods to the car. General consensus here was that was a good idea and lots of offers of help, but suggested need for video and data. Got video but need data... that's why I put the Traqmate on my list for Santa!

It's not all bad once you know how to work it.

I got it 2 years ago and they have gotten better.

It's just that people asked me often about my "Flatout" video's on youtube and how I get data and film and I would answer them with what I have, thereby selling for Traqmate. Their slogun used to be "Timing made easy" that was BS, now it is "Learn to go faster" I think.

Anyway, I like what it does, but it is very counter intuitive software and the manual and tech support forum suck. very slow and lot's of technical terms.
Without help you will throw it against the wall in frustration.

Manuals were terrible, did get better. When I asked about better manual 2 years ago, they insisted it was fine. OK.

Now that I have a dealer within an hour drive I am fine. basically it is OK stuff, but I am just warning people that if you are not very technical like me, you better have a friend or a good dealer near by who will help you out during the first track weekend, or be prepared to be frustrated.

Even when you know how it works it can be time consuming to merge data and film, other systems might just be easier to use.

If you buy, pay for training and install and make them help you do a lap (Around the block if you will), learn how to look at data, have them merge a video with you and have them upload it to Youtube, etc. There is trouble and surprises every step of the way, if you don't know how to work around the issues you'll get stuck..

OK. Thanks! Thankfully, I'll have a few months to sort things out before going to the track.

No prob. Once you get it all working and save yourself a ton of experimenting and find a buddy that can help you for a few hours..

I've tried to buy something and it takes the 15% off the purchase, but will not recognise my user ID and password. I called but they are closed until Monday and their message machine is full? Anyone else bought anything over their website this weekend?

Oh **** - I completely didn't pay attention to the title of the post and was trying to post this on here when I had a couple minutes to hide away from family and visit the internets. Thanks for the catch. It is soloracer.com that has that coupon deal.
