Default Street tires in a 951 at VIR

Guys,

I'm getting prepared for going to Chin at VIR in December. I went last year and had rain on the first day, and didn't get any video on the second day. So I don't have any good video of myself to study and improve with. I do have traqmate data.

The car last year was a 1986 951. Completely stock except for: Racer's Edge front control arms camber blocks and caster plates, S2 spindles/hubs, PF 97 brake pads, stainless brake lines, gutted interior, custom rollbar, seats, harnesses, HANS, and Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires.

Just in the last month, I've upgraded the suspension to LEDA's with 500/600 lb springs, rear bushings, lowered, aligned, corner balanced, and added a fire bottle.

I did 2:29's last year. I'd like to think the upgraded suspension will get me several seconds.

I've been trying to watch many videos of various laps on youtube, but the difference between R-compounds and street tires is so pronounced that I'm left doubting whether what I'm seeing is applicable to me.

So, my questions are, in the car as described above:
1. How would you attack the kink between two and three (all the way to the left or mid track)?
2. How would you attack the entry to roller coaster (brake early versus brake late, turn left while braking a little)?
3. What's the correct way to attack hogpen, considering the limited traction?

Any thoughts you have are appreciated. As much as anything I'm interested in understanding *why* you would take one line over another. Or if there are better videos to watch to learn the correct line, I'd love to see them.

As a reference, some of the material I've been studying:

(note that two authors contradict each other with regard to some of the questions I have.)

Thanks!
