What the hell is the Texas Mile?

Seems like he hit the one and only thing that was anywhere near the track!

it looks like he hits some embankment or pile of shrubs or something down there, no?

thank god for his safety equipment!!

no rollcage, HANS, or anything else. At least he had his Gforce jacket on!!

overboosted and underengineered....

Actually it did have a roll cage, not sure about at a Hans, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

the guy set the record a cpl yrs back in a FGT turbo, then it was broken a couple times. He wanted to take the record back from what I'm told.

I would think that if you had the desire and money to do something like that with a Lambo, that you would just go buy a top fuel dragster and do the same MPH (on a dragstrip) in only a quarter mile in a car with a much higher survival probability. Safety equipment my ***,....he's lucky to be alive.

I'd like to take my miata out to the Texas Mile sometime to see what kind of top speed I could get it up to. I'm thinking maybe as high as 120...

Greg, the Miata would require only 1.1 miles to experience the Texas Mile. No chute required. Just lift. Go for it!
