atr911, thanks for the info. I never knew about the tire diameters before, so I'll be looking out for that when I choose tires from now on.
As far as rear tire width goes, I agree that it might upset stability, but I guess there's only one way to find out! I do run in the advanced group on my home track, and don't mean to sound overconfident, but I turn pretty decent times and I doubt that my line is off in any major way. Brake oversteer is very difficult to induce in this car.

Still plays with cars.

Wider tires in front will reduce understeer.

NT01 is not non-directional because it is "asymmetric" and is marked "inside" and "outside". However, that doesn't prevent some from running them non-directional.
ASYMMETRIC: A tread pattern that differs on either side of the tire’s centerline. Asymmetric tires are not reversible on a rim. Mounting of an asymmetric tire should reflect the inside or outside as marked on its sidewall. Asymmetric tires can also be “directional,” meaning that they can only roll in one direction.
This is one of many non directional symmetric tires:
BFG R1 275 35 18 and 245 40 18 are equal diameter front and rear at 25.4" spinning 819 revolutions per mile.
I think that guy mentioning mixing diameters has a point.

fyi, elsewhere on RL a fellow posted that he talked to Nitto and they were fine with him running the NT-01 flipped on the rim so the "outside" was on the inside (in dry weather conditions).
