Default to keep the mazda or get a porsche

Im not sure if most of you know but i did win the mazda rx8 rs3 chip foose give away .

It was an amazing weekend, i took over 800 shots of the race, met patrick dempsey, hung out with his team. I was also hanging in the BGB pits all weekend with John Tecce, Guy Cosmo, and Duncan Ende, i even did the lollipop for them in the race.

Here are couple of shots, i will try to post more as i load them up!

I just love porsches and im thinking of selling it so i can buy my first porsche for the street and track. Anyone ever drive an rx8 and can you compare it. This rx8 has recaro seats, bilstein shocks, sway bars, 6spd, but again its a mazda and not a porsche.

Depends, do you get to keep the girls? Congratulations, only thing I've ever won is a ham at a Kroger.

Very cool experience..... Sell the Mazda, pay the tax and get a true track car. I do however have an affection for the tube built RX 8's that the teams race. They look and sound awesome.

This is tough. Of course our passion lies with Porsche but this Mazda is certainly unique and brand spanking new and a great reminder of a very good experience. Not to mention it's a good car from all I've heard/read.

I'd be inclined to keep it.

Start a poll?

I was there with Team Seattle (41) and one of the Dempsey cars. Saw your new ride, congrats. Good Luck with the decision. I sure like GT3s. Maybe sell the car pay the tax then cash for a track 996 or 997 GT3?

Yeah it is a tough decision i love the way the rx8's sound on the track, very mean!!! I may head over to the rx8 forums and see what they do to them for the track.

It's a Foose so despite the goodies it doesn't seem like a full track car. I personally vote sell it and get your dream car.

I am sure your new RX8 is a mighty fine car. But it's not a Porsche.

That would make a good Porsche commercial. Guys wins new Mazda and trades it in on new Porsche.

BTW is this a tube frame car?

Go over to the Mazda Forum and see if you get any offers for it!

Is it a tri-rotor, or just the normal twin-rotor motor?

Run the numbers first. Even a new RX-8 is roughly half the price of a new Cayman. Maybe put the RX8 on ebay or the Mazda forums and see if you can get a premium for it (over the base RX-8 R3 edition). Based on a little Googling, it doesn't seem that the Foose edition is more than the paint and the wheels, so I don't see it as something collectible, just a nice, great looking car.

And it terms of track toys, the RX-8 is a great car, even in the street configuration.

Yeah basically i have to find some mazda nut who likes the car with the added touches.

Its not a tube frame but im sure it would be a nice track car if i stripped it and caged it!

Congratulations!

As noted above, Sell it, pay the tax, buy a Porsche. You will always regret it if you dont.
