Default LeMons Hippie 917 homage

Here's what Porsche meant to build when they imagined the 917 Hippie car. We started with a superior 1971 914 chassis with a 1.7l, then added lots of dangerous junk parts and finally put three truly mediocre drivers in the seat.

Despite a double crash within the first ten laps, a coil wire into the fan belt (car rolled from the carousel to our pit stall), broken header limping the motor and two legit black flags for crummy driving we finished 13th out about 120, and a "trophy" for top finishing 70's car. 343 laps at MSR-Houston CW, best lap 2:02.12. Any guesses on what we were using the ohm meter for left of the steering wheel?

Congrats to the fellow Rennlisters running a 924, shamefully masquerading as a sprint car, you guys easily took the largest wing award. And to our sister team running the VW Fastback, winner of I of E.

Great looking car, Michael! Congrats on a good finish despite the problems.

I'm guessing that the ohm-meter was to measure how close you were to driving flat out.

Your car is very cool. It took me a while to realize that it was a 914.

nice car. here is a picture of a KC local Spec hot shoe's tribute. He also has a "pig" livery car that frequently puts the field behind it.

Clearly not even a challenge for this group, fuel gauge it was.
