Default I hate drifting but this is cool

Ever since drifting came to the USA it has been on my **** list. I could go into depth all day about it but that's boring.

This is the way it should be. Just like how it was in Japan, low bhp lightweight cars requiring big skills. Not some stupid viper with 875bhp on a big track.

Hill climbing is a lot of fun for sure, but so dangerous, I cannot find myself even attempting to trying it.

this would turn the big horsepower guys into sobbing fools. Not a fan either but this guy is actually doing the drift at pretty high speeds in comparison.

Last week after watching the SCCA races at Summit Point main, I went over to the Shenandoah course and watched drifting. I still don't get it. To me it's like skateboarding. A remarkable skill that seems to have no purpose.

There was a noob who must have plunked down an enormous amount of $$$ on a 370Z with a ridiculous turbo sound and body kit. He could barely get the rear tires to break loose. Maybe forgot to turn off traction control.

Sean needs to teach them the Swedish Flick... sent Timmy Lynn into a tizzy today!

And as for that car being 140HP, I highly doubt a 140HP car could keep anything but greased slicks spinning on a dry road that long..

Who said 140hp?

S14's are ~200 stock and a lot more in DTM trim.

I liked the handbrake turn. Used to do that in autocrosses with my Spitfire. That's why they had handbrakes that you had to "set with the button". You could just yank up on it, and then release it.

I am of the same opinion about drifting in general. Seems fadish and something the kids want to do. Much like they're wedded to their phones, facebook, and fame....but to get off my old man's soapbox I have to bow to this classic bit of drifting. Drifting before it had a name. Just skill and *****.

Why do you think it's a low HP car?
