Default Findings from FIA hearing: Alonso was faster than Massa in Germany? Why?

I'm sure we still remember how Alonso fans said Massa needed to let Alonso go since he was so much faster than Alonso.
1st they did same lap times, then Alonso started to catch Massa so that's why it was "normal" for the team orders yada yada yada.

Well, we saw Alonso started to catch Massa up... But why...?

In FIA hearings it was revealed that "Ferrari asked both drivers to turn their engines down--before Alonso turned his revs up again without Massa being informed..."

I used to laugh when people suggested that Alonso, by virtue of his sponsor, was the de facto Ferrari team principal...after this latest incident I see what they meant.

It is and has always been about the money. We tend too forget that!

ON the other hand, it's a team's prerogative to try and get, in their view, the best ROI. Ferrari thinks that Alonso had at that point in the season the best chance to compete for the title and also brings the largest amount of sponsorship.

Other teams make and have made and will make their own calculations based on their situation, always has been so, always will be. This should be all put to bed by eliminating a rule that cannot be possibly empirically policed or enforced.
