I mistakenly picked up 50 wt oil instead of 20-50 wt when I changed the oil in my 968 this wkend. It is Valvoline VR1, so I used 4 qts 20-50 wt and 2.5 qts of the straight 50 wt.
Can this be harmful to my engine? Should I just drain and refill with all 20-50 wt before driving on the track this wkend?

I would make sure you warm it up really well. What is the low temp supposed to be?

We use 25w/60 VR1 down here for the track so I wouldn't worry.

Dave, all it means is that your oil at 32 degrees will be a little thicker than the 20 weight that 20W-50 provides. At operating temperature, 50 weight is 50 weight, regardless if it is a multi or straight weight oil.
