Milwaukee impact wrench model? Thoughts?

I have that exact gun and have been extremely happy with it. I'm mostly an autocrosser so I change a LOT of tires - one battery charge lasts dozens of tire changes including cracking lugnuts with the car in the air which was the intended purpose I bought it for. It has an awesome amount of power and in fact one has to be careful on a fresh charge to not OVERtorque the lugnuts when reinstalling before using a torque wrench. I had a cheaper gun that worked equally well... until it stopped working. The Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty which was something that was important to me when I bought it. Not a cheap buy but one that I have been extremely happy with.

I really like my 28V Milwaukee, but you have to be careful how you use it.

I got a Bosch impact a few months ago and love it. I was really surprised how powerful it was, it broke loose the spring plate bolts on my trailing arms which are uber tight, that was enough to make me a very happy person.

I went with the Bosch 22618. Compact and powerful. Makes quick work of anything on the car or mowers, and drives 1/2" x 6" lag screws into pressure treated timbers like they are made of butter.

Lots of good choices out there..

I got a Mil. 18V (Ni-Cad) about 10 years ago and the thing is a tank. I also bought the 18V cordless drill so that I had extra batteries (and a cordless drill) and I changed the batteries out last year. If you look around the batteries are dirt cheap. That being said, if I were buying new, I'd get the 24V Li-Ion gun.

I think you made a good decision - looked at the specs on the new 18v Milwaukee unit and the new unit has substantially more torque than the old 28v unit. Let us know how it works out for you

I bought this el-cheapo from Pepboys four years ago. It's still going strong. I'll probably upgrade when it dies, but it will do the job, and its definitely cheap.

Just barely. When freshly charged it does fine. By about mid-charge, not so much. However it does hold a charge REALLY well. I can charge it and go to two or three events before I have to charge it again. It's not a great tool, but the price is hard to beat.
