I look forward to running the KIC with support by Wright Motorsports. We will have my factory 993 RSR and a factory 993 GT-2.

Hoping for great weather, it will be nice to escape the AZ heat and chow on a few Brats.

Gotta love Road America!!

Hopefully the weather is nice. With the exception of last year, it was in the mid-nineties with high humidity over the last few years.

Last year it was so cold you could see your breath....

Last year was an outlier. The 5 years prior it was very hot and humid.

If the past week or so is any indication, bring your cool suits.

Very cool. Sounds like a great event, I envy all that get to attend. I grew up in MKE but moved here to CA before I got to drive or race at Elkhart. I did run twice around the track back in '88 or so at a fundraiser... that is a pretty long grade.

I think there may be more than one 917/30 in the Sunoco livery... I think there are two.

In any case, that is a cool picture.

Here is one I took of some friends at the '98 historics. Jerry Woods Enterprises was taking care of this 917/30 at the time. The fellow that drove it spun in turn 2 during one session IIRC. IIRC I was near the then-owner's wife who got a little startled when this happened.

All of the folks in the pictures are good friends (well one is my wife). Accomplished Porsche drivers/racers and instructors.

Per the two caretakers of 004 (the owner isn't in town yet, he also has a Löwenbräu 962 and the Mobil 1 GT1) there are three. One owned by Porsche, another belongs to a collector in France and this one.

Just passing along what I was told, don't flame the messenger if this isn't true

This is the car used in the Porsche Family Tree commercial for the Panamera.

Here is the website of the collection that includes 917/30 - 004:

That's a very cool shot!
It's very special to see these cars. The F1, Indy 500, Camaro's etc... from Donahue's history are awesome.

Word around the camp fire is they are going to bring the Donohue cars into town before the parade, park them on the back lawn of the Osthoff.

I haven't ventured up far enough into to pits to find you guys, hopefully tomorrow.

Do "we" know this guy? And another 917/30 shot for you all.

It was great to meet fellow RL'sters! What a great time Friday night! Too much of the 'New Glarus Road Slush' though......

Hey fellows!

I enjoyed meeting a few of you guys while up there at the event. I'm awfully glad we were able to bring the 917/30 out to an event where there was a crowd that could truly appreciate it and actually understands the history behind Mark and his wild creation.

To the guys that attended, how many of you guys watched the laps at the end of Sunday and what surely had to be the first 917/30 'ride-along'?

BTW, Mahler9th...That's also '004'. That was during the time that the late Dave Morse owned it.

Three of the most disappointing parade laps I've ever witnessed. Ditch the passenger and open that SOB up! ^^I must have been standing right behind you when you took that pic.
