Hiromu Naruse, Toyota’s chief test driver and the man widely regarded as the father of the Lexus LFA, died in a car crash today on a German highway near the Nurburgring race track.
According to reports, Naruse veered into an oncoming lane while piloting a prototype of the Lexus LFA Nurburgring edition and hit a BMW 3-Series, being driven by two other test drivers. The BMW drivers survived the crash but one reportedly is in critical condition.

Oh well it happens just hope he wasn't doing foolish stuff on the road to cause it. May leave people concerned about the safety of the car now compared to say a 3'er BMW. As you can see from the pics the Lexus doesn't seem to hold as well as the BMW. Of course we dont know the exact way the crash occured but it would leave me doubtful.

Sad.... RIP.
With respect to safety, hard to compare a prototype to a final model. The actual physical damage looks equivalent, but it seems the M3 has way more airbag coverage. I'm sure they cut away some in the LFA but that could be the issue...
