And now another one joins. I'm actually considering to see if I can see the race live. This gets more and more interesting!

Jan Magnussen is going to join his fellow Scandinavian Mattias Ekström and take part in the NASCAR race at Infineon Raceway, Sonoma.
"It feels great. I have always wanted to try NASCAR and I am very greatful to Phoenix Racing for giving me the chance," said Magnussen.
The Dane is going to drive the number nine car for Phoenix Racing.

"We are thrilled to have a driver of his caliber to drive for us at Sonoma. Jan has tested NASCAR Sprint Cup cars before and his CV speaks for him self. He is going to give us a chance not only to qualify good, but to be in the top fight," said Phoenix Racing team boss James Finch.

Magnussen is currently in France for the Le Mans 24 hour race, driving a Chevrolet Corvette for Corvette Racing alongisde Johnny O'Connell and Antonio Garcia.

The NASCAR race at Sonoma takes place next weekend on the 19/20th of june.

Sounds good. I personally love watching the nascar boys on a road course. Usually great, close, aggressive racing. I just wish they had more road courses on their schedule. I realize it's not what their market desires, but it's a great show.

There were quite a few NASCAR drivers in the 24hrs of daytona.

If I recall, Bobby Labonte with one of the porsche teams was the fastest driver on his team.

They didn't think he would be able to drive a rear engine car.... had no problem.

Fast driver is fast in any type of car, not making a comment specifically regarding NASCAR, or any her type driver specifically but in general, fast is fast in any type of car.

Mika Hakkinen was a quest driver in Porsche Supercups series in 1993 season for two races, Monaco and Hungary, he won both races from the pole...
The Porsche mechanics who serviced the quest car said they had never seen anyone so fast (regular drivers included) and someone who drives so close to the walls of Monaco, lap after lap.
