Default OT: Outdoor security cameras

I am looking for an inexpensive outdoor IP (i.e., Web) camera that I can use at our cottage. IP would mean I can monitor over the 'Net including off of my iPhone.
Any suggestions for a camera or a site for further research would be appreciated.
Thanks

Do you only want to monitor or do you want to record? Motion sensitive? IR lighting for night viewing?

Hi Bryan
I only want to view over the 'Net. No motion, IR, or email notification needed.
I would want color (its really more for viewing than for security, as we are 200 miles away).

I started at Costco but ended up buying a Qsee "QSDF8204C4-320 4 Channel DVR w/Cameras, 320HDD, Monitor" from the E-bay seller below.

Cheap, simple and working as expected... at 30fps I have almost 4 months of motion activated "events" on disk.

He also has some stand alone IP cams..

I have two at the cabin, one Panasonic Network Camera (BLC1A), set up to upload a picture to a ftp server every 10min but you could do a lot more, also have a TRENDnet STV-IP110 was cheap, many of the same features as the panasonic but the think I hate is that it doesn't overwrite the previous file, each file has the timestamp in the name. Just need to write a script to rename.
Oh, but these are both indoor cameras I just have them facing outside.
If you have a cabin I would highly recommend a cottage sitter, I can control the heat and it will call me if something happens.

Thanks for the various suggestions - what I am really looking for is the equivalent of a web cam, not really for security.
Something I could use to, say, look at the driveway and say 'damn, looks like we need to get the driveway plowed before the next trip' or 'hmm, waves crashing over the dock; that's a heck of a storm.'

Here's what you need Rick.

Perfect for looking at your driveway or through that single neighbor's window who lives 2 miles away!

I've used Swann products with good results.

I have 3 small wireless cameras, and a wireless receiver that can cycle the 3 cameras into a single video output. Then I route that video signal into the back of a Slingbox which can be manually switched to the Swann receiver instead of the cable/TV signal from any remote Sling player (including my phone).

My setup is more customized than what you are looking for, and they have less expensive ways to get the signal to your router than a Slingbox, but their plug and play products let you start small and grow incrementally should you choose to want that.

ervtx, yours is an interesting setup, I use the slingbox for the other way around, so I can watch tv while up at the cabin.

I would think that you should be able to to this for under $300 easy. Some of the small IP cameras run their own HTTP server/page where you can watch the streaming video. Just need to setup your router to let the IP address of the camera be viewable from the outside. I don't have any specific recs on a camera, but I've set up 3-4 of these before.

Check around on NewEgg.com or TigerDirect.com for good deals.

Thank you, Bryan - that is what I am looking to do.
If I come up with a good product I'll post it here.

I've seen and used them. I've just never purchased one, so I don't know what to recommend or even remember exactly who made them.

Rick, I install a lot of cameras for remote access in smart homes. If this has to deal with bad weather, then it needs a proper housing with a small heater for the winter. Panasonic IP cams have the best picture for the money and internet access is pretty simple. Another option is a high res analog outdoor camera routed into a Slingbox for remote access. That combination is viewable via web and phone and is very reliable. You can definitely get a picture for 300.00 bucks, but I would not rely on access or fair weather operation.
