I have heard that 5000lbs axles will ride worse that 3500lbs axles load it to under 7k. My Team Spirit has dexter 3500lbs axles. (Yeah I wanted 5000lbs, but could not pass up the price of this trailer and I have not be dissappointed). It tows very smoothly loaded to 7k. It actually tows better than my old open trailer.

I would perfer to get 3500lbs axles if I new I had keep the weight to under 7k. Also in Arizona registration is cheaper at 6000lbs total trailer weight. Not sure of the laws in your state.

screw that.. just register it in Maine. $45 / 5 years.

There are also differences with leaf sprung axles and torsion axles.

for ME, if it's tandem, i will always use 5000lbs axels.
you will be AMAZED, absolutely amazed at how much SH*T you SUDDENLY have.

i used to "race" my bsr by driving my fully prepped race car to track and win. then i got a 20' trailer, i stuffed it with all sort of things i never knew i had. 3 sets of spare tires, 2 floor jacks, 4 jack stands, 3 driving suits, 6 five gallon jugs of fuel. two largest coolers you can find. bike, a few tools (those of you who can actually fix a car will have a giant tool box in there, i only bring a few wrenches).

believe me here is NO trailer big enough.
