Unhappy RIP Christophe Hissette

I heard the tragic news from my brother yesterday morning that one of his team mates Christophe Hissette was involved in a fatal accident on the Dubai Autodrome in a Radical SR8. He was the reigning European Masters Champion and leading contender for the 2009/2010 GulfSport Radical Cup in the UAE.

The exact cause of the accident is unknown. His car hit a wall at moderate speed and burst into flames. Christophe was burned to death but his hands were still on the steering wheel and he had not used the fire extinguisher or even unbuckled his harness. The most likely explanation at this time seems to be that he passed out for some reason while doing high speed on the track, or possibly suffered some kind of heart attack.

What makes it even more tragic is that I believe Christophe's father and girlfriend were there to witness the accident.

My brother is now in two minds about continuing his racing season. He seems quite shaken by the incident.

Take care out there!

Understandably not a good time for all... My Condolences to family and friends.

Graham, I do hope your brother does continue racing and I'm sure Christophe would feel the same way.

Good luck in the future.
