I'm looking for a track pad that can be used on the street for short periods of time (basically driving too and from the track). 90% of the time the car will be on the track however so i'm wondering if this is not aggressive enough? I'm currently on street pads which pooped out on me after my second session monday and i need a pad with better heat characteristics. Is the R4-S the right pad for me why or why not?

The R4-S says right on the box not to use it on the track (although some people do). Why not run the R-4 all the time? As I'm fond of reminding people: 'Brakes that don't squeal are girly-man brakes.'

I use the R4 for both track/street. They are very easy on the rotors and find them great on track as well as street. Occasionally they do squeak. I've seen a few people try R4-S for the track and they end up smoking them.

I have used the R4S on my 951 on the track and they have they work reasonably well for a street pad up until the last 5-10 minutes of a 20 minute session. My car at that time was more like 75% street / 25% track. I still have the R4S in and have run them 1 other event, but just note in my mind to take it easy the last few minutes.. in the next few weeks i am finally putting on the Turbo S calipers and R4 pads to go along with that (more 25% street, 75% track now)

ah vito i met you at LRP monday. your car looks awesome! I'll look up the KFP's before i do anything. I think theres bad seal in my master cylinder however so im going to look at that before i do anything.

You can get the KFP from Paragon if you need to order them. I was torn between those and the R4's.. i chose the R4 mainly because i really liked the R4S for street /auto-x. I figure ill start my brand loyalty..

I ran the KFP Golds for a street/autox/track pad and they were just ok. I'm running Hawk HP+ pads now, and they are much less prone to fade. They are fine when cold too, and I haven't noticed any increase in rotor wear.

My track pads are Hawk HT-10s and while they are noisy for street use, they work well. I've not noticed any shortage of stopping power even when cold. I usually put them on in the Spring and keep them on until Fall.
