I went last year during the week. Rented a 120i from rent race car. Also hired a coach from them for the morning. Well worth the money if you have the time.

Traffic was obviously a factor but a very small one. The morning was very quiet but around midday the parking lot was packed. However it was quite fun to just walk around and look at everyone's cars. Some absolutely amazing vehicles there.

Traffic while on track is almost not an issue, there is always someone slower and faster than you. You get used to just keeping an eye on things. Never had any problems.

If anything it is a check off the life list and oh what fun it is

ContourHD (Amazon) mounted over the passenger seat with goggle strap around the headrest. This is an very small inconspicuous black gadget, the size of a couple of lifesaver candy rolls, very light, all digital.
