Default Racepak IQ3 being installed, Aiptek Shopping List

I purchased a Racepak IQ3 for my RS America for this season. Now I need to resolve the camera and mount issue. I've read most of the numerious threads on the Aiptek HD Camera and this seems the best reasonably priced option.

Can I get some help with a preferred Aiptek and accessory shopping list including:

Aiptek camera model, wide angle lense, battery packs, memory card, mount, remote and anything else I might have forgotten to get started.

TIA,

JF

My recommendation is:

This wide angle lens fits it fine. Attach it using some electricians tape to securely hold it.

I would get a 32 Gbyte SD card so that you can be sure to never run out of space on your camera at just the wrong moment. Even that won't guarantee it. Ask me how I know.

Newegg.com generally has very good deals on SD cards.

Aiptek sells a remote for $10

Mike:

Thanks for your reply. how are you mounting the camera to the roll cage? I've used the IOPort mount in the past?

Before I went to a dedicated track car, I was using a Woods Powergrip suction mount. I modified it to allow me to connect it to my cage. If you are going to connect to a cage, I'd probably just go with IO-port. However, I'd use something like the bracket TR6 came up with to reinforce the camera or else you will eventually break the camera at the mounting point.

Another really good trick I've learned is to use a quick-release adaptor. This one works great:

The bottom half of this connects to your mount. The top half connects to the camera. Easy-on, easy-off. I highly recommend this.

I use the IOPort, works great. I use Amazon for the Aiptek stuff, just get the best deal you can. You will need to get a cig. lighter charger if you want to power it from the car and make the "Frankencharger" cable from it and the AC adapter that comes with it. Here is Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Aiptek-1080P-D...9748203&sr=8-1

^ +1 on the IOPort mount. Its worth a simple mod to make the Aiptek work much better [fixes any tendency to waviness] - see https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...ting-hack.html

Run the Aiptek at 720p 60fps for best results.
