I only left foot brake when driving automatic vehicles on the street.
I do left foot balance on the track quite regularly.

When I did bother to use the brakes in the 912 LFB was useful in some corners. Still getting the feel with the not fully sorted 911 but it looks like it will be about the same. Like trail braking some corners and cars beg for it. I dont hard brake with the left foot, just use LFB to shed speed or settle the car.
I don't understand why some folks want to set hard fast rules on driving methods. There are so many variations in cars and tracks to say this is or that is the method.

Stabbed it a time or two clutch like in the heat of droving. Not fun.

Absolutely, left foot braking has a lot of advantages in the right circumstance.

Shifter
LHD: located at driver's right.
RHD: located at driver's left.

Rear view mirror
LHD: mirror is at driver's 2 o'clock.
RHD: mirror is at driver's 10 o'clock.

A pattern is forming...

Elbow rest (aka window sill)
LHD: supports driver's left elbow.
RHD: supports driver's right elbow.

I'm getting the hang of this...

Clutch
LHD: driver's left.
RHD: driver's left.

Throttle
LHD: driver's right.
RHD: driver's right.

WTF?

Perhaps this is the work of the ambidextrous underground.
Or a sick joke perpetrated by the "pat your head and rub your tummy" clouns.
Or maybe it's a conspiracy - a LFB conspiracy! Yeah, that's got to be it. A friggin left-foot-braking, shuffle-steering, trail braking, heel-toeing conspiracy.
Automakers be warned: There's an anti-electronics, hands & feet conspiracy movement "afoot"!

For me, only to balance the car, particularly in sweepers and carousel type turns. Sometimes I 2-foot brake... but not sure it is worth anything.

Used to do it all the time in my 930 to keep the boost up, but in the RS the electronics cut out the gas if I use the break pedal. It just defeats the purpose for me, so I stopped left foot breaking except of course in my Kart

In certain situations, it really helps to plant/settle car down.

And of course with front or 4 wheel drive cars in snow or ice, you caqn really make the car turn (instead of using handbrake).
Pay attention to rally pros' brake lights and throttle usage and you'll see plenty of brake lights while accelerating.

Fixed that for you...

Yes you are correct.

I have been working on this for months. It takes time for me. I have tried it on the track an simply don't have sensitivity just yet. More street practice for me.

I have been LFB exclusively in my Cayenne for about 6 months now, I am ready to try it in my race car.....

BTW, for those of you who do LFB, is there an advantage to an oversized (to the left) brake pedal?

I rented two cars on a recent trip in the UK. The first one (Vaux. Insignia) had the stalks flipped, and after a couple of days flipping on the wipers to signal a turn, I got my brain reversed. Then switched to a RHD Kia and the stalks were flipped (as if it was LHD), so I spent a few more days flipping on the wipers (or flipping them off if they were on) when signaling for turns.

That would be a matter of personal feel...though with a clutch pedal, fitting a wider brake pedal would be tough.

Absitively! I LFB exclusively, unless I have to shift while braking. Much better transition time back onto the gas, and I get enough practice that there's no difference in sensitivity.

I will often even just LFB while on the gas, rather than the off-throttle that might be required, since it's more consistent to generate the decel desired. In other words, I'll two-foot it.

Just don't try that in a Toyota - you'll die in a flaming ball of metal.
