For what it's worth, had my first DE with the Nitto NT01's after using R-888's all last year. Hands down, Nitto provided more predictable grip, did not get greasy at the end of the sessions and seemed to wear very well. They were also less subject to pressure. In the first session, I was a little cautious not knowing the tires. Despite starting off at 32 psi, after 4 laps I checked and the pressure was up to 38 psi. Even at that pressure, still had grip, but improved greatly at max hot at 33 front and 35 rear. On the Nitto wagon. Great tire for my 92 C2 coupe.

Get 17" wheels
The Cup 4 from Tire Rack work well on my 993, they could fit on TrackMeister.
I have 19 heat cycles on a set of NT-01, they look almost new, scary.
I am going to try the Hankook Z 214 tires, on my next tire order, $900 a set out the door in Paso Robles. They are DOT, but too soft to drive to the track.
