For your first couple races, grid in the back and do not pass anyone. You do not want a incident till you lose your X

To be honest, you really shouldn't want one after that either!

Congrats Jaje and Leigh. I'm been dragging my feet using the simple broken pipe insurance repair that has morphed into a complete kitchen redo as my lame excuse.

I did those for a while then just decided I wanted to do this. Of course I don't really know anyone close who races here so was kinda alone in most of my quest. It is difficult to juggle family, work, and racing. I actually had my wife do a couple DEs to understand what I do so that racing doesn't become the "mistress". My son is also 8 going on 9 soon and is about big enough I can take him out for some laps so he can see what I do. He loves riding in the racecar when I drive it around the block (slowly I might add).

Congrats Leigh2 - let's hope for a fun and clean outings.

Default Congratulations

Congrats from the newbie member. Now how do I do the same? I have been racing motorcycles all my life and have just over to Porsche. While my primary focus is to get a 944 to the Targa Newfoundland rally I might want to do some other races in Texas or in the south.

Thanks.

You are in a good region for racing 944s as it is growing quickly. Check with NASA SW and PCA Lone Star region and talk with the racers as to how to get started.

Thanks for that and I will contact PCA. How long did it take you to go through the process and races? Congrats again.

I had a NASA comp license since 2008 so getting the PCA License is easier for me (mainly paperwork and sitting in the comp racing class). Go to PCA website and read through the club racing license application process. There will be one for you and one for the car (get a logbook). Good luck.
