The issue is that with the rule change there is no happy place to run the car in both NASA and PCA GTB without lots of adjustment to weight between venues. Viking accurately described the problem for GTS-3. In GTS-4, with slicks, min weight would be 2709 if rwhp were 301. That's nearly 400 lbs away from the PCA weight.
I just ran into this issue. I planned on running my X51 in GTS-4 and PCA GTB1. Then found out about the secret rule change that increased GTB min weight by 125 lbs and had to register in GT3R for my next PCA race. Unfortunately I am too heavy for that class so the car really has no place in PCA anymore other than getting out there for fun.

That is when a restrictor comes into play and you can decide which class to run in and what tires to use. A 30% +/- restrictor would bring the car down to the 260-270rwhp and that should allow you to play in both classes depending on where the competition is.......assuming you want to race where this is more of it! Options, in my opinion only give the car more value as you have more places to play!
And if you want to try out World Challenge, you can run this car in the new GTS Class! I got this car approved.
Thanks,

Speaking of tires, since I have an audience with two of the smartest guys out there, will a 265/645R18 Hoosier slick fit in the front of a 2003 996?
I've been running 250/650 and 285/645 (f/r) and was going to try 305/645 in the rear, which I have been told will fit. Was thinking that going bigger in the front might help with a tendency to push with the larger rear tire. Your thoughts? What tires have you been running on this car?

This car runs the Patron Spec Yoko Cup tires (240/280 - 18) set up as that tire size was tested on the 18x9 and 18x11 inch wheels. This is the setup I would run with a 350hp car weighing 2850 pounds.

Car has been sold.
For anyone of you who were interested in this car, I will also have an ex-Koni BGB 996 for sale from a current customer that is stepping into a 996 Cup.
Details to follow when the sale goes public.

James,
Great news on the sale!
I just wanted to chim in and personally thank you for GMG's support of the PCA-OCR region Auto-X series. Your continued support in these economic times is very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Chris Barrington
