The webinar was good, touched on all the basics of the two major data systems and David's explanations were clear. Very good for people new to Data acquisition!

Yes, thanks a lot. I found that it re-inforced what I already understood about data, and added some good basic analytical pointers.

Great stuff. David's treatment was very practical, and there were a few little gems in there that show his long experience with data analysis. Good coverage, and good value. Thanks Charlie!

Reinforced the fact that without matching video the data is great but you are always guessing about part of it when comparing laps unless you are lapping alone, and even then the cars position is a guess. Funny how the GPS in the SmartyCam showed the kart off track in Google, I wonder what it's accuracy is compared to the Pista or other devices (Motec, Racepak, Traqmate)? I know on my AIM the lines seem very close (on the AIM GPS created track map), have to try creating a file for Google Earth to look at.

Been telling you that forever, Gary

The Smartycam GPS errors were much larger than anything I've seen from MoTeC, Racepak, Race Technology et al. That was a big surprise.

Thanks for setting it up Charlie. Very helpful. David did a good job.

I never quite figured out what I was supposed to do to ask a question. David referred to clicking on something in the upper right corner, but it wasn't on my screen.

I know of a lot more guys that have Traqmate than Motec or AIM (although there were some Motec owners in attendence). Would have appreciated a bit more discussion of Traqmate.

How many people ended up signing up?

I enjoyed the session last night, was a great refresher for the start of a new season. As a traqmate user it took a bit to rethink the software, but was nice to see all systems function basicly same way.

thanks again for settign this up Charlie

Tony, if it wasn't such a PITA to merge data from AIM and video using TV I would have ALL my data merged. I love that AIM, rather than give you the positional data you need to link up, comes out with SmartyCam! I think I have the procedure somewhere to pull a Google Earth pos file out ofthe AIM data, will try and find it and see it I look like Fred driving Limerock..

Default Online Data Seminar

I wanted to post and say thank you to all that participated in the online data seminar last night. I thoroughly enjoyed hosting it and truly hope you found it worth while and informative. I hope we can do it again on other topics. Thanks to Charlie for initiating and spreading the word.

Hope to see some of you at my VIR track day event in October.

All the best, David
