Can you bump draft in an SRF, or would that damage the bodywork? I assume the latter.

^^There is plenty of bumping in SRF. The bodies are pretty stout and have lots of tape and repairs on them.

That is exactly what they are doing. But if you do if very long, you burn the nose as the exhaust dumps onto it.

The other 'trick'(and it is a dirty one) is to slightly brake check the guy behind. That will close down the radiator opening and cause them to overheat. Not often done, but I know a couple of folks who have tried to resort to that. Of course, they are the ones who like to make noise about how dirty the other guy always is.

Weight limit is 65 lbs. Your "battle nose" should be 64.5 lbs.

Pushing is an important part of racing in that class. I have my preferred "pushees", and they've got my paint all over their lower rear frame member. Still looking for a exhaust heat-proof paint for the left front of the nose, where the exhaust from the front car hits. Very noticable smell...usually about 1/2 down a looong straight (WGI back, VIR back, Sebring before Sunset, etc.).

What a lot of people don't realize is that when you're as close as the cars in the pix, you're absolute freakin blind to the front. It's like being in an airplance, looking out the window - "I know there's a corner coming up soon...hope I see a brake marker flash by soon !!!".

PHT - still flying blind

I've come to the conclusion that some of they guys with black cars just use the Rustoleum High Temp Paint....

CM - working on reasons to add weight to the nose...

If someone want to do some serious racing with these cars, the 25th anniversary is in April at Road Atlanta, 6 hours of track time. Brand new pro series starting up with 5 double weekends planned including VIR, Road Atlanta, NJMP and Miller. Rentals are available.
