A good friend of mine has the following track car for sale. He travels frequently so I've offered to help him sell it.

1993 RS America Track car build # 200 .Arctic White about 90,000 miles. An incredible track car. No Sunroof, No Radio, No AC. Does have LSD. Shortened gears, Monoballs with JIC Magic Suspension, Big Red Front brakes, Safety Devices Cage, Momo Steering wheel, Traqmate GPS, Sparco "bird cage " drivers seat,, Evo passenger seat, 3.8 rear wing, Protomotive chip, Fabspeed exhaust and headers, complete body repaint including interior in 2009. Original Cup rims freshly powder coated black, as well as Fikse FM5's. Rennline pedals and Trackmats, Lexan rear quarters and rear glass. Very light, very fast. Needs nothing. Freshly serviced with all fluids replaced including transmission, valves adjusted, tuned. Perfect. Recent financial situation forces unexpected sale. Asking $38,500. What PCA class does it run in?

It must be a DE car (or NASA race car). For PCA, the short gears would make it a GT class car (GT-4? and at a big disadvantage). Put the stock transmission back in and I think it would be a Prepared H car (has Big Reds, chip) similar to Larry's old car. Not sure about the JIC suspension.

Nice clean-looking track car though.

It's only been a DE with the current owner. No clue on what class it would end up in as it was never planned to be raced.

Wonder how it fits into NASA classes, may consider advertising it there too.

Gary, it would fit into GTS3. Chipped 964's dyno 250 to 260 range whp. Cage may need some added bracing, then good to go. The problem in PCA would be rear plexi for stock class and the trans.

It's too bad cars get modified (for big $$!) without knowing just how it effects future prospects. At least it can run in NASA in a realistic class because PCA GT isn't.

Gary, Gooooood point!!!! PCA GT class should conform to HP to wht with a dyno cert. It would make the class affordable and able to run multiple race organizations. The rule book for NASA GTS has had almost no changes in the past 3 years. The constant rule changes that PCA goes through is testament to the complexity it has created.

That's true. So many DE cars (like this RSA) have no place to class in PCA racing. Many cars are over-modded for stock and yet would get completely annihilated in GT. I'm sure it's a big reason many people don't give racing a try... they don't want to spend thousands of dollars to make their car slower (or tens of thousands to make it faster).

If PCA told people "Get a cage and get a dyno" I bet we'd see a nice bump in new license applications.

Jack, Absolutely true. A cool idea would be to run a GT race once a year with BMWCCA. A sanctioned race between marks would bring out hundreds of cars. I like running with the other marks as each has a tactical advantage somewhere on the track.
