Default Traqmate or other DAS steering input off the DME ???

Hey Guys!

I understand from prior threads here that you can get ...

~RPM signal off DME pin # E6 (I currently use this and it works)

~Throttle Position off DME pin # D13 (I am going to use this, but understand from others it works)

Has anyone ever gotten steering data input from a DME pin? There is a steering angle sensor in the car, so there must be a signal somewhere, somehow!

I am using the Traqmate system and this is for a 997 2010 GT3.

If it outputs a 0-5v then it's just a matter of calibration. I have not looked into the stock sensor to be honest. Most folks are just using a separate sensor (like the cups).

Got any specs on the sensor? I don't have a 997 shop manual handy.

Hey kgorman!

I do not have any specs yet. I stoped by my local Porsche dealership where I got the GT3 and Vick said he wil fnd out as much info as he can for me, like how many volts and if it is an analog or digital signal. What kind of specs from the sensor would you be interested in? Wouldn't you be more concerned about the signal info from the DME pin that comes off the ECU?

Question for you, if it s possible to get info from the ECU, why would you choose to install other sensors to the car? I am sure there must be a reason why someone would spend more money like that.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Mike
