F.A.S.T. Cool system mounting?
Got a FAST cool shirt system for Christmas...after I got pretty close to delerious from the heat in a race this past summer...Anyway, to those of you who run them in their 944's where did you mount the cooler box?

Because I have an old one that leaks I have it mounted in the spare tire well, that way the water can drain out the hole in the bottom. Having said that, when I replace it with one that does not leak, I will put it in the passenger area. Why, for one, I don't think it's optimal to add extra weight behind the rear axle (ie, in the spare tire well). Secondly, it will be easier for someone to add ice to during an enduro.

Since I don't carry passengers in my car, I mounted mine in the passenger's foot well. I usually store empty fuel jugs and chairs in the back of my 951 while towing, so I wanted to keep that area clear. Also, opening the rear hatch on my car is kind of a pain. Sometime the rear latch won't easily release and the hatch's airshocks aren't strong enough to hold open the hatch, so sometimes I get bonked in the head with a drooping hatch.

Passenger side foot well where I can reach it from the seat. Mine has a problem where it looses prime on the pump when I fill it and I sometimes have to shake the box to get it to reprime the pump and flow. I've seen many mounted in the spare tire well though.

Strangly if I put weight in the back it changes the balance of the chassis, vut in this location I barely notice it at all.

In my 944 I mounted it in the passenger side behind the seat area. I welded in some tabs to box it in and then bungee cords attached to the tabs to hold it down. It's wired to a toggle switch on the dash. Worked well but was kind of a pain to install and remove when there was a passenger seat in place, no problems when seat was out.
