Default Scroth harness rec?

Looking to order a set, 6PT, for install with GT3 seats and DAS roll bar in a 993. I think Profi II is the way to go, from what I can tell.

If I were to get the HANS 3/2 inch version, can these be run safely without a HANS on occasion, or is the HANS mandatory at all times for that particular model? I am thinking primarily about passengers...

PS - I have heard HMS in Ma. is a good vendor for these. Any other places I should look?

Thanks for the advice.

Best,

Matt

HMS is the source.
It is adviseable to get the Hans version for the driver , if you are wearing one and a standard version for the passenger. If you passenger happens to use a Hans, it will only be slightly cumbersome and much more accomodating for a passenger without.

HMS is where they all come into the country through.

The 3/2 harness system is not for use without a HANS.

I have a set of Schroth 6 point Titanium Hybrid II's...they were special ordered thru HMS in Peabody MA (about 2 hours from me).

Joe is definitely the person to speak with regarding any Schroth questions.
I really appreciate the comfort/fit afforded by the Hybrid II sub straps.

I highly recommend the Schroth Enduro belt. It is the easiest belt to adjust and is very comfortable. I previously had a very difficult time adjusting my lap belts as the adjusters were near the floor. The Enduro belt has lap belt adjusters at the buckle, making a breeze to adjust the belts. The belt material also unique and slides very easy.

Matt - I just ordered the Profi II 6pt non-Hans from Apexperformance. Great customer service and I could take advantage of the 15% discount that they published in RL. Free shipping is included too and they ship out in January that I have the 2015 FIA date.

Looks like you are working on the same set-up. The DAS bar is already in my car and the GT3 seats are waiting for the correct BK consoles. The OEM 996 consoles that came with the seat fit but I came out to high. If you are small you might get away with them. I am currently trying to sell the OEM consoles on ebay.

What mounting hardware do you plan to use?

I'll echo the suggestion of the Enduro belths. By far the best set of belts I've ever used. Particularly if you're going to have man different sized folks in whichever seat the belts are installed in. They also really help the installation, as you don't have to fool around the belt lengths to get the adjusters in the right place.

I have the Hybrid 2 in full 3" and they are pretty good, but I have to echo the others and say the best I've seen are the Schroth enduro model.

Another vote for the Enduro belts, worth the price bump...and they come with bungee cord loops.

Another + for HMS, I bought a 6pt hybrid set up last year, very nice to use, a pain to explain to those that haven't used a hybrid before

I am 6-1 and more torso than legs, so the modded 996 sliders are not an option. Not sure which combination of BK sidemounts and Reacro sliders are best, but Bob Books offered to assist. I may just end up sacrificing the sliders and bolting sidemounts straight to the floor, but that is not my first choice. Let me know how your install goes and what parts you ultimately source!

PS - thanks everyone else for the recs on the hybrid and Enduro setups. Will chat with HMS and get them to explain the nuances...

Best,

Matt

Matt - I talked to Bob and based on his recommendations I am sourcing:

2 Recaro Sliders 0.70.9NT
1 BK R-9078
1 BK R-9079
2 BK R-9030
1 BK R-9003 (set of 2)
1 BK R-9004 (set of 2)

I take my time with sourcing to pick up much as I can used. I was lucky to get the harness mounts last week on ebay for less than half price and have a lead on used R-9078 / 9079.

I plan to get this all in sometimes in January and will provide you with an update. According to Bob, the install should be easy with this material list. He has done it plenty of times without issues.

Looks like you might not have discussed/considered how you are gonna mount the subbelts?
Perhaps the R-9035 sub bars should be penciled in.

Thanks for verifying the list. You might have overlooked the BK R-9030 in this list which are the correct sub bars for mounts I am looking at. Agree?
