Default Amateur rally racing in the Northeast

Does anyone know if there are any amateur rally racing events left in the northeast? Any details would be appreciated. A bonus would be to know about car classes, particularly around 2wd VS 4wd. Thinking of rally racing a 911SC. And please don't mention the Targa NFLD... logistics outside my price range.

Thanks in advance for any information.

the guy that built my cage rallies with Rally new york, I can put you in touch with him if you like!

http://www.rallynewyork.com/

NEW YORK WINTER RALLY
Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24, 2010,
a snow / gravel rally

or

RALLY NEW YORK USA,
April 16-17, 2010, a tarmac rally

second event could work as its a tarmac rally, and could be good practice for LRP fancy a co driver?

You're in and i hope you are not kidding. This could be a ton of fun (...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2BH3sIqevo ). But, i want to pick an event after the Road America club race... I assume rally could bring hardship to the car... but not to my navigator of course

Joel just picked up his GTI rally car. We're talking about doing a time share for ice racing and rally. the rally schedule in the NE is surprisingly poor. NASA is sanctioning events across the country but nothing good in the NE.

Fred, I am not so sure you want to race your beautiful podium D car in a rally.....

Lots of mud, rocks and unpredictable terrain.....

RWD is the way to go for sure, granted any would be fun but getting the rear out is the best. First time I tried it in the uK was in a 1978 mk2 ford escort with a 2.0 cosworth BDG engine and that thing just sung. I spent the whole day sideways and it was superb fun

Breakfast of Champions!

SUV's in the snow are for quitters, though. Sack up & take a V8 Mustang or something.

Fred, you can pick up a rally car for next to nothing to just go out and bang around - less than $5k. Julio charges $5k to walk in the door
