Another plug for the Ford. I bought a 2006 F250 new and have put 28K towing miles on it. I only use it for towing and it has been flawless. Probably just jinxed my self.

Truck choice like religion is a highly personal opnion.
Whether you're Catholic or Presbeterian you believe that you'll eventually get to heaven. Now whether there will be 72 virgins waiting for you is another story.
Don't let anybody fool you, each brand has it's share of issues. Good luck with your choice.

06' PSD crew cab dually. 36k miles all towing my 28ft. Pace with zero issues. I change the oil between 4-5k religously using 5-40 Ford synthetic. I add a 8 oz. bottle of Stanadyne Performance Formula every tank. I added 2 by mistake once and the motor was so quiet and smooth I wasn't sure it was runnning....

I have a friend with a 06 F350... He has gone through at least 2 motors. All replaced under warrenty, but he is sick of the time wasted. He live about 2 hrs from the dealer and it just a pain. He is also experinced with Diesels and has had 1 tons for 15+ years probably. mostly Ford's, but also a couple Dodge. Consider he spend like 50k new on the truck he has not been happy with the relability.

I have a 06 F250 4x4 crew Diesel with no problems, normal oil changes at 5k, fuel filters at 30k, almost 70k now, love the truck. Pull both a 24ft enclosed or 18ft open.

I've been test driving diesels for the past week, found an '06 F250 CC Lariat with 125,000 that is a good price. I'm a Ford guy, but can't make up my mind on this one, the 6.0L that is
