The Mid Ohio PCA race, and I would like to get to a track I've never been to before such as Road America, WGI, or Barber.

This year, I am going to get into NASA for the first time. After driving and racing on most of the tracks around the US and some in Europe, I am most excited to get on one that is one of the 5 closest tracks to me here in south FL.....Road Atlanta! I know, I know there is no excuse but there it is. I am shooting for the NASA Race in June with my GTS3 996. Will be a famly affair for me too which always makes it even more fun!

If both of you guys make it to TWS, we should have at least four 996's in GTB. (three 996 Spec cars) But you will have to wrestle the GTB record from the current record holder.

Oh really now, well we'll just have to see about that...

You have to weigh a minimum of 2975 lbs. to run GTB. Are you aware that you could weigh as little as 2680 and run in GT3 R/S? At Miller w/PCA, the largest class was the GT3 with 10 cars. At 2680 you would be close to unbeatable....

Speaking of GTB.... I wish PCA would adobt the same weight/HP ratio for all the GTB cars. As it stands, I'm at 9.17 while your X51 is 8.62. I would have to drop 164 lbs. to 2586 to match your weight/HP ratio. I'd like that.

Unfortunately I have to weigh 2800 for the 996 Spec class, 2750 in GTB, and 2740 for NASA's GTS3 class (249rwhp). I've ordered a Getty CF hood and Lexan windshield (illegal in 996 Spec) which I'll have to switch back-n-forth between weekends.. Silly huh?....

the race I look most foreward to is the next one I am regestered for next. I dont care what track, when or what car. If I am driving that is the place to be.

with that said, favorite tracks Road Atlanta, Sebring, VIR (alphabetically not in order of imprtance)

Turns out my weight was optimized for GTB as opposed to NASA GTS-4. I got it on the scales and with a little under 1/4 tank of gas and an empty cool box I was 3009 lbs. The gas will offset the fact that I almost always race with a cool box so that's my current racing weight. Still have weight to drop, even in GTB and my NASA weight is all the way down at 2,763! (Dyno'ed at 307 rwhp)

Heater box still has to come out, but after that additional weight saving will be tough. Not sure if the charcoal cannister is still in place. Also looking at fiberglass front fenders and pulling the headlights for when I run with NASA. Not sure about the Lexan screen yet, not sure its worth it. Any idea how much weight is saved there? I was looking at the MA Shaw hardened version. What did you go with?

You are right about the GTB rules, some cars are theoretically more equal than others.
